Bifocal glasses have two lens powers built into one lens, typically one for distance viewing and then a magnification lens at the bottom for near viewing tasks. A progressive lens is similar to a bifocal except it has the powers all blended together. When comparing a progressive lens vs bifocal you may notice a progressive lens has no line on the lens, this allows for a gradual change in lens power to view through giving you more options for intermediate distance visual tasks.
